Lovingly restored after a devastating fire in 2015, nestled at the base of Chapman’s Peak, overlooking the Cape’s iconic Sentinel, lies the terrific Tintswalo Atlantic. Quiet charm exudes everywhere, from the moment you are welcomed in. With the ocean rolling in to touch the hotel decks, you have the distinct feeling of being at the end of the earth.
Each of the ten luxury suites are individually themed to reflect the personality of ten beautiful islands around the world, ensuring each guest a unique experience. Each suite has the same glorious view of the magnificent Sentinel across Table Bay.
Bottled water is offered in reusable glass bottles and given to guests as an everyday alternative to plastic. Set in the Table Mountain National Park (“TMNP”), Tintswalo Atlantic management strive to positively work with the local park system to maintain the environment and leave little footprint behind – both ensure a hands on approach that protects and serves the flora and fauna of the park. Part of the agreement with the reserve is that the hotel has to be built in such a way that it can be removed quickly without a trace that they were ever there.
Tintswalo Atlantic has also assisted TMNP in the prevention of poaching of marine life. Bringing the importance of conservation to the kitchen, Chef Jeantelle van Staden uses locally sourced fish and produce whenever possible and also only sources all seafood from the Sustainable Green list
